Yoga Mat:

In a yoga room or studio it is likely to observe, on the floor, a large number of mats, each one for a different practitioner. These mats are used for various reasons.

First of all, they delimitate the personal space dedicated to each person. Hence, every practitioner can try to reach the state of harmony between the mind and the body, within the space allocated to him, space that he can control and dominate.

Tapas Mat

Tapas Mats are considered the most valuable tool for Hatha Yoga. The Tapas Mat provides a stable, non-slip surface to your practice. It is lightweight and durable and comes in a variety of colours.

A Sticky Mat is the perfect surface for Yoga because it keeps your feet, hands and elbows from slipping. The Friction helps you stretch wholeheartedly, without holding back to keep your hands and feet from sliding. Sticky Mats also provide a tiny bit of padding- enough to keep your knees and elbows from getting bruised, but not so much that you wobble and lose your balance in the Standing Poses.

Ashtanga Yoga Rug is made in India it is 100% Cotton it is ideal if you would rather have a mat made of natural material unlike sticky mats. Cotton mats do not offer much traction until they get damp. For a better grip, try sprinkling a little water around the area where you put your hands and feet.
